Sorry, different part of Texas. Though based on what little money I bring home, I'd string for them, unless they were like the Mansfield paper and just decide to never pay you.

You're kidding, but someone else surely did e-mail them.

How quick does this dude's current job get posted? I say three days, tops.

Also, TX Writer, going back and changing your post later doesn't change it for the people who have quoted it.

It took him 33 posts to make himself look like an ass.

Amateur. I have him beat by at least 20.

Not quite the Virginian-Pilot meltdown from the summer, though.

To get back on topic, I've done something similar in the past. I was at a 22K and moved to an 8K to be its sports editor. The problem with making such a move is that, although there's a nifty new title involved, all most hiring editors see is that you currently work for a crappy 8K paper. Also, you left a 21K, so something must have been wrong with you. At least, these were kind of attitudes I got when I was trying to move on.

Keep in mind, that, at least for me, there was an entire cultural difference between 21K and 8K. If you hate hyper-local stuff and readers feeling like they have a say in the content, don't go to the 8K because it will only be worse
