Pats fans petition Goodell to investigate last 1:40 of Super Bowl

That was a jab at someone who doesn't yet realize how well he knows the author of said jab. Nothing more. But hey, why even bother with rhetoric, let's just snipe at each other.

 

I'm a naturalized fanboi of the Bruins, Red Sox and Celts (never could warm up to the Pats, not even back in the red-jersey days when they weren't assholes). But I've always found the attitudes of the Boston sports fans inexplicable and kind of repulsive. I respect their knowledge- particularly of baseball and hockey. But it seems they have the nastiness and combativeness that's characteristic of the Northeast region, in general, combined with a special New England provincialism/paranoia. Add to that a nouveau riche snobbery from the recent successes and you have a pretty ugly mix.

 

I think their arugment is that the touchdown would never have happened, that time would have run out before the Giants touchdown. Which of course is them assuming the Giants let 40 seconds run off the clock.

 

Ah, so when you're making fun of one set of fans it's a jab at someone. Do as I say, not as I do?

Are you ignoring the fact that he probably was registered under another name, or did that never occur to you?

 

Of course. But the facts are what they are.

 

Except that a registration date for a username is hardly a reliable source for how long someone's been around. You should check some of his previous posts.

Kissing Suzy Kolber had fun mocking this petition today. They posted a cross section of some of the more ridiculous Patfan comments, as well as some fake ones their readers planted at their behest. The legit ones summarized thusly:

"Stunning, isn't it? You wouldn't think that one group of people could reach suchs high levels of both arrogance and insecurity simultaneously. It's the sort of thing anthropologists will study years from now, asking themselves, "How was such douchebaggery enabled in a civilized society?"
