Tecmo Super Bowl gets my nod...
Pound for pound the best game ever. Nothing beats watching Barry Sanders run out of the hospital in Week 9 to save your season.

    Your thoughts?

Maybe not THE best, but it deserves Top 10 status

    My Top 5:
    1. NHL '94
    2. Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball
    3. NBA Jam TE
    4. Madden '96
    5. Bulls vs. Blazers

    All for Super Nintendo.

Of course, if you count skateboarding as a sport, then Tony Hawk's franchise is my No. 3.

Of course Tecmo Super, but damn, EStreet, I had that game for the Atari. Wow, I completely forgot about that. Good times.

I had Ken Griffey Junior's Winning Run, I'm not sure if that's the same thing you're talking about ... but that game wasn't too shabby on its own. Pretty much every time Griffey made contact, it was a 693 foot homer. Good times.
NHLPA '93 was my fav of the early hockey games.

I'll take a stab at my top 5...

    1. Tecmo Super Bowl
    2. RBI Baseball
    3. FIFA '95
    4. Madden '96
    5. NHL '94 or '96

There's a ton that deserve honorable mention such as Double Dribble, Coach K Hoops, NBA Jam/College Slam, Bases Loaded 1 and 2 etc, etc.

No, dude. They were different games. In my opinion, the original topped "Winning Run."

    4. Coach K College Hoops

    * - Yes, I know it's not even out yet. I'm basing this on last year's game and the demo version. This game is going to be sweet.

Man, I'm so old. Intellivision's Football. LOVED IT.
My dad figured out a way to cheat at the game, though: He'd get 50 yards on every play by either running a keeper to the left or throwing a screen all the way down the TV screen. You could control only one guy, and you could never run fast enough to catch the other guy. You'd have to guess which way he was going, but it never really mattered.
Man, I threw that keypad controller down and ran out of the room a lot ... "STOP CHEATING!"

MVP 2005 for PC. I will not be swayed. The things the modding community do for it blow my mind.

Loved my Intellivision, but those damn controllers and key pads made sports games impossible to really enjoy. Just too awkward.

Nice! I've got to give that a whirl sometime.
