Knight to be an analyst for ESPN

How is Bob Knight an idiot savant?

Say what you want about his behavior but if you'd ever sat down and talked with him, you'd know the guy is very intelligent, and not just a great basketball mind.

I've done it. You're right. And you know what else?
It's just not forking worth it.
I can get almost the same insight, more laughs, and enjoy myself more with other coaches rather than seekiout a sociopath who openly derides my profession for laughs and then sucks down a salary from it the first time he needs a paycheck.

Bravo, F_B.
Yes, he's a great basketball mind, that doesn't justify him being a bi-polar condescending brick.

Yet another reason not to watch.

Can you think of many other analysts who know more about the game than he does?

so that immediately makes him a good analyst?

Knowledge of the game?

Yes.

We also know he can talk.

Oh . . . can he talk.

Heck, we're talking about an industry where deck Vitale and Digger Phelps are the standard.

i'm guessing he'll fall far below the phelps (mendoza) line.

Yes, well except for the part about being an arrogant brick.

That's pretty much what I had in mind. I wonder how Jeremy Schaap feels about this.

I don't hold Phelps in high regard at all, but maybe that's me.
