But they already have the job.

Just don't go to that Subway anymore.

  2. Yes, Frank, they believe that because they know there are people like you in position of power.

I don't think Frank ever said he had a problem with the guy at Subway; that was Hondo. Frank said he doesn't eat at Subway, but he wouldn't want anyone with a nose ring serving his food -- at least that's how I remember it.

    Let me just say this.

We all have our own hangups. We all make snap judgements of people based on appearance. We all have prejudices. Those don't make you an asshole. They make you human. They make you a product of what you grew up seeing and what you see every day, which might not honestly reflect how you view the world.

Desperately trying to logically justify your own hangups and prejudices, at the expense of others?

    That makes you an asshole.

In 2000, my friend's 3-year-old daughter died after getting E-Coli at Sizzler. It gets no worse than that. End of thread.

  6. This may be the first time I agree with an "end of thread" post.

    That is awful, Tony.

Sadly, it gets worse. The mother was so racked with guilt for not making something to eat at home instead of going to Sizzler. Combined with the fact that she missed her daughter so much, she neglected to get a suspicious mole on her face checked out. It was cancer and they got it too late. She died two years ago, leaving her husband with three boys under 10 years old.

I drop a card for them into our prayer bucket at church every Sunday. They could use prayers from anyone else who believes in prayer and has some spare time every now and then.

He refused to sleep in their bedroom any more but finally sold their house and moved to a different house.

My God. I just read this entire thread, thinking about what I might contribute. Rather pointless now. That's as sad as it gets.

The night owls have had their say, and Old Tony brought it all home.

    I agree.

    End of thread.

I am starting the converse thread right now.
