Awww, ain't that cute. 21 charging to the rescue on her white horse.

It's not melodrama. He can post whatever he wants. But he, and you, want to point to him as a legitimate source. That means his credibility, or incredible lack thereof, becomes an issue. Sorry, somebody with that much of an agenda, that much disdain for all sports journalists and no problem at all with misrepresenting the truth is not a credible source.

And if this board is such a joke, then why do you care what I have to post about him anyway?

This coming on the heels of Tammy Thomas getting the first BALCO-related perjury and obstruction of justice convictions on Friday (the others have pled guilty). The government went in there with a weak-as-hell case that a lot of legal experts were saying was going to fail. The whole thing was interesting because it was something of a prelude to what Barry Bonds is looking at. Bonds' lawyers were there furiously taking notes, trying to see if they could glean anything that they can use when they get Jeff Novitsky on the stand. Novitsky testified for several hours and came out pristine. It actually got a bit surreal, because part of her defense was that Novitsky had so much evidence WITHOUT Thomas that she couldn't have obstructed justice -- they didn't need her because they already had BALCO and Patrick Arnold (who she dealt with) dead to rights. So rather than try to smack him around, they were actually trying to make him seem MORE credible.

Interesting side story about Thomas. Apparently she has been going to law school since she was banned, and it looks like the reason she faced the trial rather than pleading was because a felony record would make her degree worthless -- she can't pass the bar. She had a meltdown when the verdict was handed down and started screaming at the prosecutor about having two careers taken from her.

Also, Shane Mosely sued Victor Conte. Conte is standing by what he said. How ironic (is this irony or just funny as hell?) would it be if Conte ends up having to pay punitive damages for "libeling" a steroid user he said used steroids? Seems to me, it is kind of par for the course, though, when you mess with something you should have moved on from long ago, and you deal in half truths and distortions yourself. Why shouldn't Mosely play the same game and potentially pick Conte's pocket?

    Ragu,

You are just not very bright. The Mosley suit is nothing more than Marion Jones Part 2. Mosley has made a huge mistake. Conte's lawyers know exactly what Mosley said behind closed doors because they have his transcript. Even Mosley's civil lawyers don't know anything other than what Shane has told them. They don't have his transcript. Wonder how Shane's recollection is after more than five years. Go read the recent LA Times article. There were three eye witnesses who watched Mosley inject himself with EPO as it was all explained to him in great detail. There is overwheming evidence that exists against Mosley. He knew exactly what he was using. Do you not think that the feds will be very interested in yhe transcript of Mosley's deposition in the defamation case. There is no possibility of Mosley getting any money from Conte. There may be a possibility of Mosley being indicted for perjury at some point. Why do you routinely mouth off about things you have no idea what you are talking about. Mosley has filed a frivolous lawsuit that will likely end up very badly for him. In fact, his bogus lawsuit is an outright abuse of the fedral judicial system strictly for purposes of publicity. Don't forget that his own trainer has already filed a lawsuit against Mosley for defamation. Mosley is certainly not the sharpest knife in the drawer. You would be smart to put your money on the other guy.

creamora, I've never made any claims about my intelligence or lack of it, so if you don't think I am all that bright, no arguments... But what does what you posted have to do with what I posted? I have no reason to believe or disbelieve what you just asserted. Nor does it relate at all to what I said. I simply said Mosely is suing Conte and there is a possible outcome that would amuse me.

I'm not placing any bets on a Mosely/Conte civil suit. I just find the whole thing amusing given that you have a track and field athlete who I am sure is lying through his teeth and a compulsive liar trying to keep himself relevant by running around in circles faster than a track and field athlete. There is a nice circular quality to it all. I thought it would be funny if Conte somehow ends up having to pay damages for libel to a guy he is telling the truth about. It wouldn't be a particularly just outcome, but maybe if honesty was the ONLY policy, there wouldn't be any irony it for me.

    Ragu,

You are even dumber than I previously thought. Shane Mosley is a boxer, not a track and field athlete. Have you completely lost your mind? Are you on medication for your disorder? Maybe you just need a vacation. You were talking shit about Mosley getting into Conte's pocket book.
I told you precisely why that is not ever going to happen. Stop talking shit when you have no clue what you are talking about. Marion Jones and her lawyers were talking 25 million dollars. Do you remember that? Can you understand "Straight to jail and collect zero dollars?" Shane may be the next one to learn that lesson. Hopefully, he will wise up soon and shut his mouth. If not, it will be a sad day for his children as well.

creamora, Glad to give you an opportunity to jump all over the brain fart. It was the mixed metaphor of Conte running like a track and field athlete that got me, and I was typing quickly.

Still has no relevance, other than giving you chances to call me dumb. And I wasn't talking shit. I really WILL laugh if Mosely wins a libel suit against Conte. In Conte's world of distortions it will seem like karma to me. The steroid user who gets called a steroid user winning a libel suit. I'll be the first to call it unjust, if it means anything to you. And then I'll laugh... hard.
