I'm definitely hoping to see New Orleans come out of the West...a very likeable group and the best team in Hornets history. Chris Paul, my pick for MVP and one of the most improved players in the NBA, is posting insane numbers in the playoffs (41 minutes, 24.3 ppg on 50% shooting, 12 assists, 5 rebounds, over 2 steals) and he hasn't even gotten his improved 3-point shot working in the postseason yet. David West has also put up some great numbers (40 minutes, 22 ppg on 47% shooting, 8 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.29 blocks).

Peja is averaging 18 ppg with 62% of 3's connecting, Tyson Chandler is a top interior defensive presence who can score a little, Pargo has stepped up his game off the bench considerably and brings lots of energy, and Mo Peterson is a nice fit, can shoot the three, and has been more efficient in the playoffs. If I were the Hornets, the only thing I would be worried about is Bonzi Wells, who has taken a giant step back in the playoffs. But I'm interested to see how NO plays in San Antonio.

How is Kobe the only unanimous first-team All NBA player? How do you not vote for LeBron or Chris Paul on an All NBA ballot?

    WHAT?!?!?!?!!?!?

You mean, better than the Larry Johnson-Alonzo Mourning-Kendall Gill-Muggsy Bogues-Dell Curry group?!?!?!?!?!

Superior to the David Wesley-Bobby Phills-Glen Rice-Anthony Mason-Vlade Divac core?!?!?!???!?!!!!!

That's a bold statement, young Boston homer.

Wallace walking like that scares me.

Has he ever had heart issues?

They said it was a brief bout of vertigo, which I can attest to is no fun.

For all of the talk about how Boston would be in trouble once LeBron got it going (which I agree with to a point), shouldn't the Cavs be just as nervous that Ray Allen hadn't scored a point in this series until 1 minute into the third quarter of Game 2, yet the Celtics won Game 1 and have a 10-point lead in Game 2?

If Pierce and Allen get going, then James is going to have to score about 55 points a game for Cleveland to win.

Well they can really worry about it because Allen just got going. Everyone who said LeBron couldn't have another game as bad as game one, well...

One thing I'm hoping is that Brown takes him out if it gets out of hand. I don't want to see him gain some confidence by scoring late in a blowout, though the Celtics haven't shown a lot of let-up in blowouts this year, so I'm guessing they wouldn't just let him get anything easy.

I said that if the Celtics turned LeBron into a jump shooter this series it would make things infinitely easier. For whatever reason he looks completely content to fire away from outside and far all the things he does at an A+ level, he's a B- at best as a jump shooter. He's in a brutal situation right now: continue to bomb away when he doesn't have it or kick it out to the cast of misfits running alongside him.

I figured he'd go for 40 tonight. Now I'm thinking about 50 on Saturday. I won't complain if I'm wrong again.

  11. Wow. No comments about the Spurs-Hornets game?

The lack of interest speaks volumes about the NBA.

It was on in the office, but I didn't really watch it.

I'm just glad the Spurs won to create some excitement in that series. Hornets came out hot early, but Parker and Ginobli started absolutely killing in the second half.
