April 16, 1940. White Sox got no-hit by Bob Feller on Opening Day.

Just to add to the also-rans ... Howard Ehmke also did it four consecutive seasons (1920-23) then led the league again in 1925.

    Well, I was curious, so I went to B-R .... :)

Some more questions I found in my trevails around the 'net:

    Q. Who is the only person to win the batting title in his first two full major league seasons?
    A. Tony Oliva (1964, .323; 1965, .321)

    Q. Who is the only player to win a batting title for an expansion team in its first year?
    A. Andres Gallaraga, Rockies, .370 in 1993

    Q. Who are the only players to steal six bases in one game (modern day)?
    A. Eddie Collins, 1912; Otis Nixon, 1991

    Q. Who is the only player to win the stolen base title in both leagues?
    A. Ron Leflore (Tiger, 1978; Expos, 1980)

Did you know that in 1919, not one starting position player on the Chicago White Sox had more strikeouts than walks?

Joe Jackson stuck out just 10 times the entire season. vs. 60 walks. He also tied for the team lead with seven homers. Amazing.

Buck Weaver, with 21 strikeouts and an astounding 11 walks, begs to differ. 8)

(FWIW, Swede Risberg also had 38 K vs. 35 BB.)

It's also pretty amazing that the team leader in walks, Nemo Leibold with 72, didn't hit a single home run in 434 at-bats.

I believe Eddie Matthews is the answer to who is the only Brave to have played for the Boston, Milwaukee, and Atlanta franchises.

I asked this question earlier in the thread but it may have been overlooked. Yankee Stadium, Wrigley Field, Turner Field to name a few, display each teams names from their respective leagues on outfield flag poles. (Wrigley does it for both leagues.) They are arranged in a particular order in every ballpark. What is the order?

That's right! For some reason, I think that's pretty cool and wish every park displayed flags.

Who is the only person enshrined in both the baseball and football HOF's.
