There's a comment begging to be made, there, but I refuse to make it.

 

There are also more threads about Bill Simmons than there are about Lupica...

Just to clear up some false speculation, I get along very well with Burwell, and vice-versa. We cooperate on everything. He's the kind of colleague who will defer if he knows I really want to write or cover something, and I do the same for him. I consider myself fortunate to have him as a partner at the Post-Dispatch.

Also, I've never entered a hot dog eating contest, but would undoubtedly be a strong contender in the competition. Perhaps the winnings could supplement my newspaper earnings.

an amen, brothers, to those weighing in on bryan burwell and bernie miklasz. both are terrific folks to be around. i worked with bryan for several years and also competed against him. a great guy. never worked with bernie but also know him well. hard to imagine any problems between the two.
