Rodgers through 1 quarter: 9 of 15, 117 yds, 1 TD to a helmet-less James Jones, 1 INT (thanks to WR Chris Francies).

    10-0 Packers.

    Not a bad start, kid.

I'm not watching. Was Jones' TD a run without a hat, like Witten did last year?

Yep, Jones reached and hauled in a high pass, turned upfield with his head down and a Bengals DB popped him and another Bengals DB. Jones' helmet flew off but he stayed on his feet and ran in 15 yards untouched.

Rodgers looks pretty good (even better if his receivers held on to the ball more often), but remember, it's the Bengals' defense. Arguably the worst in the NFL.

I wish Kornheiser would talk more about Favre.

Not mentioned here yet, but to be able to have Leftwich be your insurance for Ben is OK with me.

John Lynch is apparently meeting with the Patriots.

Why has it been so hard for Leftwich to find work? I realize he's got less mobility than Sid Luckman's corpse, but considering some of the awful QB situations teams are facing, I figured he'd generate a little more interest.

As a backup, I think he is great, but a lot of people who know a lot more than we do about football have kept passing on him.

Hopefully he never takes a snap this season.

You could do a lot worse than Leftwich as your backup QB.

And a few teams are gonna enter the season with a lot worse as their starter, IMO.
