Isn't "spics" a slur specific to Latin Americans?

What in the world would possess anyone to do that?

Spaniards better stay out of those Chinese bars where blacks and Mongolians aren't allowed.

I think you're right. And that pose by the Spanish team, isn't that gesture specific to the Japanese? Wait, how's that go again: Chinese, Japanes, dirty ...
    My bad, it is Chinese.

Luis Aragones doesn't know what the big deal is.

It was a really, really stupid thing to do. However, if it was an ad for a company owned or operated by Chinese people, they should bear some of the criticism for doing it. I doubt ALL of the Spanish players are racist buffoons.

Spanish soccer and basketball crowds (and sometimes players) are well-known for calling black players on opposing teams "monkeys" and "apes."

It's to be hoped they try this before playing the U.S.: Final score, 187-73.

I'm more offended by it being stupid than racist.

Spain is notorious for it anyway. When black players show up at certain soccer stadiums monkey chants are the norm, so much so that clubs have been cited by FIFA. Spain was in danger of losing the Spanish GP because fans showed up in black face and wigs when Lewis Hamilton went for a test session several months back.

And yes, it would be incorrect to call someone from Spain a spic. That's a derivative of the word Hispanic. If you are going to use a slur you should probably know how to use it. ::)

Apparently, Jose Calderon isn't the only one who missed the point.

With 71 of the 73 coming from the free-throw line.
