    Running for president and winning a major party nomination is a far better test for actually being president than is governing a small state. Obama has been forced to stake out policy positions on everything, defend those positions through a million debates, handle the daily media bullshit that comes with campaigning and manage a huge grassroots political organization -- probably the biggest in history. He's as prepared for being president as anyone can be without having the job. Although there's nothing that really makes you fully ready for it.
