    Feel free to contact KCI Sports Publishing out of WI. I know of two sportswriters from WI (Milw J-S and Madison Cap Times) who have done books with them and both had nothing but good things to say and got paid advance and royalties on time and the correct amounts which in lieu of what many have gone through with SPI is good to hear. Checked out www.kcisports.com --looks like they just released book with U of WI hoops coach Bo Ryan. Website is being updated to include all of their titles and multi media.

    Hi all -

    I received an email from SP's COO - he was prompt with his reply to my email to him, and pretty helpful. He told me that SP has one full-time, paid employee and the company is preparing to file bankruptcy. Also, they are obviously not accepting submissions for new titles.

    So, that's all I know - wanted to pass that on.

    One? That's two fewer than they had a while ago. Glad I had those books shipped, that's my only chance of getting any money.

    Hi Rob,

    Sorry, no. He was basically responding to my (much) earlier emailed submission question. I had already corresponded with someone this summer, before it got bad, and he was following up, presumably after that other guy was gone.

    I think if their website is working, and you inquire via the author submission tab, you'll probably get an answer.

    I'd be shocked if SP got bought for more than 20 cents on the dollar of what their asking price is.
