    Great call.

This guy's having a great laugh--or cackle, or rattle--right now:

I would give my fourth left toe right middle finger left arm to have heard what Shanahan said to Patty Bowlen when told he was being fired.

Knock me over with a feather. Pat Bowlen had given everyone the impression that Mike Shanahan will run the personnel and coaching side of the franchise for years. What Bowlen did may save his franchise because Shanahan's lousy personnel decisions - combined with the autonomy and power to continue throwing defensive coordinators in front of the train - was wrecking the Denver Broncos.

Mike Shanahan is a good coaching mind, and should be at the helm again somewhere else - IF he stops thinking he should run everything. He had too much power in Denver and he choked the Broncos with it time and again.

It's not as tiring as having to work around the consistently juvenile threads you start. And you start more than your share of them.

In his defense, Poin does serve as the teacher sex RSS feed for the board.

I wonder if he even remembers Shanahan coached there? He might just want to interview him.

Agree completely, they should have done what the Seahawks did with Holmgren and strip him of his GM duties and had him just focus on coaching

You don't let that coaching talent go out the door.

    Stupid, stupid move.

That's two things we disagree on, apparently.

He hasn't done shit since 1998, and he's had plenty of talent.

The next gig will tell the tale...if he doesn't pull a Fassel and manage to punt every interview.

This is just like when the Dolphins pushed Shula out.

Pat Bowlen should have talked to Huizenga.
