Loved the Matt/Julie/Chandlers stuff.. but this one seemed like, OK, we did this now wait til you see the next one.... the stuff with the officials bothered me.. feeds into the fanboi point of view that refs are always biased....that film gets back to the state association and those boys aren't refs anymore, in real life.

Hey Coach Taylor, looks like I'm scoring more in your house than on the field. Care to reconsider QB#1?

Another great episode last night. Marv McCoy totally loses it! Also, the more I look at Buddy, I swear he's related to Bob Huggins.

I thought it was a good episode, too. It's kind of funny how "not about football" this show has become that winning the state semi-final (in usual downpour/last-second fashion) is just prelude to the episode's climactic trip to Applebee's. Also, didn't they lose a couple of games early? Would they be a high enough seed to still be playing at home?
My only complaint is this: Must they make Pops McCoy out to be so unmitigatedly evil? There's got to be some explanation for his ceaseless assholery.

I can see a scenario of the boosters and Principal Taylor getting at each other's throats, Taylor getting run off from Dillon HS and her and coach Taylor go to the other high school for the next season.

Not sure it'd be the same coaching the East Dillon Giraffes.

The reason? He's an asshole. Not like he needs the kid to be the bread-winner. It's all about ego. I'm glad his mom has come around. I was starting to dislike Janine Turner, but I'm back on board.
Actually just watched the last three episodes, and you're right -- it's funny how football is such a small part of the show now.
I'm glad Landry told Tyra off, but I'm not too excited about them moving toward getting back together. Absolutely loved the scenes with Lyla/Buddy, and it's interesting how Riggins is becoming the responible one with Lyla's guidance, but she seems to be going the other way.
    Just a great damn show.

I like it. It means at least 26 more episodes and it means a well thought out, two-season arc.
