    For as long as I've known him, El Sombrero has always been among the most professional, most talented and most likeable members of the Gotham press corps. I join all of your friends and colleagues in wishing you a speedy and complete recovery.

    In so many ways, that is some truly horrible shit. My thoughts and prayers will be with Mike and his family.

    At the same point, what a great story he tells about that day. The value of friends and the things they do for you...

    As someone who has spent time with Mike in press boxes and locker rooms, I defy anyone to say that he hasn't always been a good guy. I pray that his situation changes. I admire his bravery in accepting his situation. God Bless You Mike Celizic.

    This is really small, and I'm not trying to trivialize -- and he might have even been kidding -- but given who he works for, I would hope to god Al Roker pays him a visit very soon.
