Some of you are really drinking the koolaid on Georgia Tech, which gave up 159 points in its last five games last year. And that was before it lost the best players from its front seven. Also, both of Tech's top running backs start the season fighting injuries. Dwyer went down with a hip flexor yesterday (I realize this was after the ballots were cast) and Jones has been hampered with a wrist injury pretty much all summer.

Finally, they had seven games decided by a touchdown or less. They won five, but one of those was against Gardner Webb. Those other four wins could have easily gone the other way, particularly Florida State, which fumbled into the end zone in the final minute. Of course, I could be wrong about all of this, but I say Tech will lose three games.

so we're dumb because we turned in our ballot 3 days ago and the RB hurts his hip yesterday...

jeez, i think i'll blame the hessians for getting drunk in trenton and not anticipating george washington's surprise attack across the delaware.

A reminder to the missing voters -- PM the ballot; do not just post it here and assume it's good. It's far easier to go through messages than several pages on the thread.

Well, they have 12 regular season games plus a bowl game makes 13 (and a 14th if they play in the ACC title game). A 10-3 record will put them in the top 10, or damn close to it.

All these preseason polls are shots in the dark anyway.

My top 5: Florida, Texas, USC, Oklahoma, Ohio State in that order.

Not buying the hype: Georgia Tech (16), Oregon (23).

Better than you think: Cal (8), BYU (14), Rutgers (18).

rutgers IS NOT BETTER than you think. no teel. no britt. the offense will struggle. the defense will be decent, but teel was that offense for 3 years (with all due respect to ray rice).

and ohio state has to replace to much on defense.

Hey, I was acknowledging the voters couldn't have known about the injury. Merely added it because I felt it further advanced my case.

i know. i was just riffing on you.

bangs and bruises are to be expected this early.

so, if i bet, and not saying i will, but now that delaware allows it and i'm only an hour away, i would take washington (the hungriest team in the nation) and baylor in the first week.
