Michael is great with kids, though. Remember his interactions with Toby's little girl?

 

I think you're missing how hard they're selling the creepiness of Michael being with her mother. On deleted scenes, she's throwing up in the parking lot.

 

She's pregnant. That's morning sickness.

 

I can't believe how many of you are bagging on Pam when the whole point seems to be she's acting emotional and irrational not just because Michael is humping her mom but because she's almost six months pregnant. As someone who is married to a very pregnant person right now, it seems exactly how she would respond.

 

Damn voice of reason.

 

Also, Creed weeping like one of the characters in Shawshank Redemption at the aria was perhaps one of my favorite moments in the last several years.

And Jenna Fischer played the scene in Michael's office -- where she goes from being excited about the gossip to horrified at the information -- just perfectly.

 

Creed weeping was fantastic.

I also liked Kelly's verging-on-sobbing congratulations to Pam and Jim at the very beginning of the episode.

No TV series in history gets as much mileage ---- and humor ---- out of so many throwaway moments and miliseconds of physical comedy.

 

I don't know if anyone noticed, but when Michael berated Pam about apologizing to her mother, he called her Beesley (or whatever the spelling is) instead of Halpert, which is her last name now. No one corrected that either... I don't know if there is anything there, but I'm sure it's something.

 

I think the idea was that Michael referred to by her full name, as a parent would when scolding a child. Since Michael is banging Pam's mom, he started acting like he was her father.

 

Ruh-oh. Looks like I'd better keep some things on the down-low. Oh shit.

 

Did she actually change her last name? It seems like a number of shows I've seen have female characters keep their last name when they get married.
