The Post-Tribune of Northwest Indiana is seeking a correspondent to cover Indiana University men's basketball for the duration of the season.

We're a good three hours away from Bloomington up here, but IU's reach extends to every corner of the state. We're looking for someone who lives in the Bloomington/Indianapolis area with deadline experience to provide game previews, home game coverage, occasional features for our weekly Big Ten Extra spread and news stories as warranted. It's not a full-time job, but it will be a steady gig, likely three or four stories per week -- sometimes more, sometimes less depending on the team's schedule. The correspondent will be paid on a per-story basis.

Anyone interested should contact sports editor Mark Lazerus at mlazerus@post-trib.com or 1433 E. 83rd Ave, Merrillville, IN 46410 (or simply PM me). Please include a resume and a few clips (links are fine). We'd like to have someone in place as soon as possible.

Sounds like an ideal situation for a student journalist. IU has a pretty strong journalism program. Ought to bve able to find someone there.
