Beautiful story. Wright is one of those guys who makes me inspired to be in this business, but also depressed about how much I suck in comparison.

Hear he has another one coming tomorrow that's going to make me want to drink.

I hate you, Wright. I swear, I hate you....(pause)...Oh my gosh, I love you.

 

He's an amazing writer, but why should anyone give a fuck about someone who fought Ali 48 years ago?

No interest whatsoever in the story.

I could give two shits about boxing but that story sucked me in. It's as much about sports as "Citizen Kane" is about a sled.

 

How can I expect him to find Sweet Jimmy Robinson when he can't find Elvis Grbac?

For the same reason why it's interesting to find out about a baseball player who played one inning of one game in 1905. Curiosity.

Everyone has a story to tell beyond what is written in black and white, including searching for a guy whose claim to fame lasted about a minute and a half 48 years ago.

 

I agree. I'll take a story about a Sweet Jimmy Robinson over yet another story about LeBron, Tom Brady or Tiger any day of the week.
