I'm not too big on Burke as a play-by-play announcer.
I'd be willing to bet Gannon and/or Fraschilla isn't either.
But I've never asked them so I'm not sure how they feel.
    Just a gut feeling.

Before I decided to mute the television, I kept waiting for Gannon and Fraschilla (One a pretty good college basketball player, one a veteran D1 coach) to be talking about the proper ways to play a 1-3-1 zone, and Burke butt in to ask the boys if they had tried her new lowfat Chicken Tortilla soup recipe.

It's fun watching you two idiots critique Doris Burke's play-by-play... When any moron can tell you she's a COLOR analyst.

SportsJournalists.com's best and brightest are really out today, boy howdy.

How, may I ask, do you like Doris Burke's color analysis and other on-air work?

For the record, blitz respects the hard-working female reporters in the Home and Garden pages.

For the record, Blitz is welcome to have an opinion.
Dooley, after 42,000 posts, you should know how to read my previous post here that cited many other professions where I noted women as achievers.
Ward and Burke are not my cup of tea as sports contest describers.
    That's just me.

    I'm with blitz.

I think women make fine nurses, secretaries and stewardesses, for example.

Honestly? As an analyst? Very good. And she was a damn fine player from what I understand.

I've seen her shine and carry women's broadcasts. I'm sure she's still finding her zone on some of these men's games. A 3 man booth is a challenge for anyone... But her knowledge of the game is exceptional.

Sideline? She's too good for that shit.

After 3,165 posts, you'd think Blitz would have learned to keep his misogyny to himself on a coed board.
