Don't blame blitz. Who knew there were women who like sports?

People tell me I should just let it go.
So I may do that eventually.
Right now, I'm going to say again that I don't like Pam Ward or Doris Burke's analysis of men's basketball and football.
I'm also going to say ... that's just me.

And I'd say all that if this was or wasn't a co-ed board.

"People"? You mean you've been getting PMs agreeing with you?

C'mon out, fellas, and defend ya boy.

Unless you're scared of a couple girls.

Do you feel it, highlander?!?! It is the quickening . . . of this thread's demise!

No help for anyone here. I watch all games on mute, since if I don't, I end up yelling at announcers more often than not since they get on my nerves. When I've heard Burke, I haven't come away irritated, which is about the best I could say about most of them. Haven't really heard Ward.

When I was in Japan, I was taken aback by the fact a British woman was doing color commentary on a sumo basho. I don't believe there's women's sumo wrestling, and based on societal norms in Japan I was surprised she played such a major part of the national broadcast. But she certainly seemed to fit right in with the booth conversation and commented with the confidence that comes from knowledge.

(I assume she knew her stuff. My sumo knowledge is decidedly limited)

That said . . . we could have a "Tim McCarver/Brent Musberger/Joe Morgan/Paul Maguire/Dan Dierdorf average college/NFL/NBA color commentator sucks, and why in the hell do they have a job?!?!?" thread every single day.

That's what I do, too, if the announcers aren't satisfactory.
Several male announcers don't do it for me, either. (This thread just happens to be about Pam Ward)
I won't dare miss a game, though. I just mute it.

My friend, Steak Snabler, is here watching games with me.
Steak's on his way to Pasadena and he's told me to let it be.
    Is that satisfactory, Lugs?
This has nothing to do with misogyny, I assure you.
    Carry on.

You take that back - other than the UFL and the SWAC bowl, Paul Maguire doesn't have a job !

I don't really have a problem with Pam Ward. Her commentary is intellegent, but I'm not crazy about her voice. This is coming from someone who sounds like an escaped mental patient on tape.

I'd take Pam Ward anyday over Cris Collinsworth. He irritates me over any other broadcaster right now, just because it seems that according to him every single player should make every single play or they shouldn't be making the 'big bucks.'

Luggy shouldn't it be about time for you to do another Sarah Palin take down.

I wonder why those threads don't happen every day. I mean, what's the difference between those guys and Pam Ward?

    Oh, wait...

I have only issue with women announcing games, they turn really snarky and bitchy when it's that time of the month and it shows during the broadcast.

    Plus their obsession with shoes.
