Humor Columns

Hello everyone.

Which newspapers still have a humor column? Not humorous essays or editorials, but containing a joke or two.

 

We have humorous editorials all the time. I fear it's not intentional, though.

Other than Dave Barry, I don't think there are very many humor columns in newspapers.

I blame sodoku.

 

My paper is still running reruns of Dave Barry columns. He stopped writing when? 2004? I'm just wondering at what point we start getting reruns of the reruns.

(That said, if we stopped running the column, our readership would have a fit. I know this because of one instance where we went a week without it, we fielded a plethora of calls from an angry mob.)

 

We still run Billy Graham.

 

Sorry, I meant to say - the type that have just one line each time. A joke, words of wisdom... anything like that.

 

Any periodical in the world. Even weekly ones.

 

When I was a student at U-Md., we had a humor columnist who ran biweekly. He had his column the entire year; I had mine for the bulk of the spring semester.

Many people on campus looked forward to his column so we could laugh our asses off. I was definitely one of them. I had one of the two "graveyard" shift columns (Fridays when a lot of students have either literally or figuratively started their weekends and don't pay much attention to the paper).

Granted, I still developed a pretty huge audience in my own right, but I definitely enjoyed reading his column. I made it a point to read it whenever it came up.

As far as one-liners or occasional jokes are concerned, I haven't seen too many such columns in newspapers these days. It'd be nice to see it again.
