He's not talking and he's not going to ever say anything substantive unless he can blame someone else for the incident. Because whatever he says will always come back to haunt him at trial.

Not to get all Whitlock up in this thread, and I know its not exactly analogus (since we don't have a charge yet), but if Kobe had stalled like this talking to the cops I feel like a lot of people who are quiet now would have lost their shit.

Maybe not. But it sure seems like he's getting treated kindly. He certainly shouldn't be giving up his DNA without a court order but I think he could meet the investigators with his lawyer present by now.

Looks like the case is falling apart ..
No physical evidecne to tie Roethlisberger to the scene of a potential crime and the witness is apparently refusing to be re-interviewed.

Don't know what he did or what he is guilty of, but I hope he gets his shit straight.

The cynic in me is compelled to say ... "Or she got a hefty cashier's check from Roethlisberger's attorney and signed a nondisclosure contract."

I had that thought as well, which is sad for Roethlisberger if he is innocent. That said, at the very least, he put himself in a bad situation and his reputation has taken another big hit.

Damn good football player, but as a human being? Let's just say I wouldn't want my 20-year-old niece in the same room with him.

I'm not sure what to think about the alleged victim. Maybe all the attention this case is drawing got to her and she couldn't take it. I can understand that. But it is also possible that she either filed a false claim for the sake of a payday or decided to let a guy get away with sexual assult for her own financial benefit, making it more likely that he does it again.

I don't think she filed a false claim - whatever that claim may be. But I think alcohol was a HUGE factor in her memory of whatever incident occured.

So, if this all blows over like I think it very well may now, what does Ben do to move forward? I'm thinking to save his image he needs to take a public vow to abstain from alcohol. I'm not saying he needs to go to AA or anything, just swear off alcohol. And in the press conference where he does it, he maintains his innocence of the sexual assault, but says it's the best thing he can do in his life right now to become a better person.

There's been so many different reports on this, I can't remember if he was actually drinking that night or just buying the drinks as some have said. I think at this point, though, an abstention from alcohol is the most positive thing he can do publicly.

    That's not very politically correct!

I think the expensive ones that he can afford prefer to be known as "escorts."

Roethlisberger has two strikes against him. Getting wasted in bars is a damn good way to get the third.

If something did happen to this woman, I feel very bad for her, because it almost seems impossible in this day and age of twitter and the internet for her to get speedy justice. I am 99 percent sure that every person at the college she attends knows it was her who accused Roethlisberger. That really is not fair.

Oh, Dr. Cyril Wecht... That is one fucker I do not miss.
