Indiana's not in the Midwest either? Will no one claim these poor states?

I understand the traditional designation but Ohio, Michigan & Indiana have next to nothing in common with the rest of those states.

Hell, I'd argue that anything south of I-44 in Missouri isn't the Midwest either. Same for the western halves of Kansas, Nebraska and the Dakotas.

  4. Really? Other than Chicago, Indiana, Illinois, and Iowa are practically the same state.

    Charles or Marilyn?

Charles, unless there's a freaky-looking Marilyn aspect we don't know about.

And not considering Indiana part of the Midwest is nuts.

The midwest ends where the flatness stops and the hills of the Appalachians begin, imo.

Classifying whole states a certain way can be simplistic.
--Florida is not a Southern state south of Daytona.
--Missouri is a Southern state once you get about 50 miles south of I-70.
--About two-thirds of the way west, Kansas is a Rocky Mountain state.

When you start to hear banjo music and the hills start to get eyes you're not in Kansas anymore.

Nothing like linking a regional label to someone. Heard enough of them to last three lifetimes. Ugh ...
