Not sure how prevalent they are nationally -- there isn't one within 75 miles of me here in BFE -- but I love Steak 'n Shake burgers.

I've been to the one in Indy a few times. Pretty good.

Steak 'N' Shake is great if you want to have good sides and a shake (Butterfinger shake . . . yummy).

Apparently, In-N-Out loses this comparison because its fries don't stain a paper bag.

I wouldn't turn down a burger from either Five Guys or In-N-Out. Both are very tasty. But if I'm at In-N-Out, that likely means I'm in California. So I'd rather be eating In-N-Out.

I like Five Guys burgers but hate the fries.

In-and-Out is one of my traditional stops when I'm in Vegas in part because they don't have any here in Dallas so it feels special. While I must admit that Five Guys is pretty good, In-and-Out is a little tastier and not as overwhelming. When I eat at Five Guys, even a regular sized burger, I feel like I have a boulder in my stomach. I also like the fries at In-and-Out better because they taste a little lighter.

I've heard that a lot. What's wrong with the fries?

Huh? Five Guys has the best fries I've ever had. Hot, crispy on the outside, potatoey on the inside.
Heck, they tell you where the potatoes came from in Idaho.
    Plus, the cajun ones rock.

Yes! There was one down the street from Angel Stadium that lasted longer but still died a few years back.

Fuddruckers purchased last week by the Tavistock Group, an investment company in Orlando. It owns several small restaurant chains but not one I've ever been in.

OK, but not as good as Five Guys.

Five Guys' fries are decent. Nothing special. But you're right; the cajun ones are fantastic.
