Five bands you would hear in heck

Yeah, Albert. I really want to amend my list and add Fleetwood Mac. Rumours was the most overplayed horrible album of the 70s.

Yeah, and what makes it SO awful is that the original Fleetwood Mac, with Peter Green, Jeremy Spencer and Danny Kirwan trading sizzling lead guitar licks, was about as good and about as groundbreaking as any rock band has ever been.

I'd forgotten that FM went through guitarists at the same prolific clip that Spinal Tap lost drummers.

As for overplayed '70s albums, see: Frampton, Peter (Alive, Comes, Frampton). Give me Lindsay Buckingham's obsessive post-production over Frampton's synthesizer any day of the week and twice on Monday Morning.

-- Peter Frampton
-- Billy Squier
-- Phil Collins
-- Michael McDonald (any incarnation)
-- Starship (only since the nano-second Mickey Thomas arrived)

Sorry Bubbler -- I'm stealing two of yours:

1. Any country music produced by Nashville's establishment from 1985 or so to the present, but especially since the late 90s.
2. Dave Matthews Band
3. Bob Dylan
4. Phish
5. Chicago, Peter Cetera and onward.

Ah, so many choices. For me, my hatred of 1980s hair bands would haunt me for eternity:

-- Poison (No. 1 by a long shot)
-- Slaughter
-- Warrant
-- Creed (from the 1990s)
-- Nickelback (actually, they might challenge Poison for worst rock band ever)

Seriously, Dante had it wrong. Judas isn't among the damned being chewed in Satan's mouth in the ultimate depths of heck. It's these three guys:

since we're supposed to focus on the genre(s) of music we listen to most, my list is:
1. Genesis (plus the solo career of any member past or present)
2. Yes
3. Rush
4. Jethro Tull
5. ELP
5a. Kiss
5b. Allman Brothers

[flash=200,200][/flash]

1. Styx
2. Rush
3. Randy Newman
4. Your choice of bad 80s metal bands
5. And the kicker: Your choice of Christian rock bands from the 1990s. No one will truly understand how horrible this music was unless you were raised in a church-going family of the era.

(And to the person who decried Bob Seger, honestly there was a time the man made actual credible music. That time ended the moment the rest of the country found out about him and he started singing ballads to pick-up trucks.)

1. With very few exceptions, any country music band selected at random.
2. Air Supply
3. Creed
4. Death Cab for Cutie/Panic at the Disco or any whiny-ass emo band.
5. Chicago

Ke$ha should have her own damn cave.

Also include:
Oasis
Nickelback
Rockwell
Yoko Ono

3) Poison
4) Creed
5) Stryper

Drivin'N'Cryin.... I never understood the cult worship of this band by some of my friends. I saw them play in a club once and I swear I actually fell asleep while standing up.

I never worshiped the band, but on a good night in the 90s Drivin' n' Cryin' was an amazing band to see live. Over the past 20 years, though, I'd much rather see a Kevn Kinney solo show.

As for my five, there's not much I hate because I don't listen to what I don't like. Just pick five of the most popular bands of last decade and odds are the all suck.
