Your Mike Price comparison doesn't really help with the argument that race played a role in Evans' firing. Last time I checked Price was white.

He clearly had poorer taste in women that Evans does though.

 

Not so much the race thing, but being caught fooling around and drunk is not a combination for success in the SEC.

On the race issue.

Evans was probably on the wrong end of every angle, from a PR standpoint.
- Some/many of the white fans wouldn't like the bi-racial thing.
- Not sure of the African-American fan support of UGA in the state but I imagine a total of zero African-American females would have any support for Evans seeing him trouncing around with a white woman while Evans' wife is at home raising two kids. Those women have probably seen that happen before...

I'll diagnose Evans with the Powerful Man Who Thinks He's Above The Law Syndrome. Happens all the time with us guys - when we become successful, those chemicals start flowing around and we quit thinking clearly. Shoot, when I get my little victories in life, I feel like I can do anything and I lean on discipline to make sure I don't do anything stupid.

Evans deserved to get fired. Dude should have paid cash for a cab.
