They recreated the Battle of New Orleans at Super Bowl IV. Maybe they can recreate the Kennedy assassination for the Dallas Super Bowl?

BEP is the Hootie and the Blowfish of the 2000s. I fully expect Fergie to do a country album in the near future.

Forget the Black Eye Peas, they should get Don Johnson to sing. Who doesn't want to hear a little Heartbeat?

Would have been even cooler if they didn't SUCK! Seriously, they may have been the worst half time concert I have ever heard. I mean, if we can't hire Canadians to play the Grey Cup, let's at least import somebody .. oh, I don't know ... COMPETENT.

These are the bands/singers that I think can be reasonably considered for a gig like this. In no way is this me saying I'm a fan of these acts. :D

    U2
    Springsteen
    Rolling Stones
    Van Halen
    Bon Jovi
    Billy Joel
    Elton John
    Paul McCartney
    Sting/Police
    Blackeyed Peas
    Aerosmith
    Prince
    Who
    Dave Matthews Band
    Tom Petty
    Stevie Wonder
    Taylor Swift
    Carrie Underwood
    Pearl Jam
    Coldplay
I'm sure there are a few country acts I'm forgetting.

When you take into consideration who has already done it and which bands (if any) would say no to an invite, the pool to choose from is insanely small.

Coldplay's great and all, but I really can't see anyone getting excited about hearing "Yellow" at the Super Bowl. Then add in some teen pop star, oh Justin Beiber, to duet it and you've got a horrible half-time show.

On that note, let's just suck it up and book Beiber. You know it's coming.

I'm no fan of the Black Eyed Peas, but they are definitely a good choice as halftime act for the Super Bowl.

I saw them last year. They opened for U2 at University of Phoenix Stadium.

I'm not a fan, but people who like them thought they were wonderful. They're energetic and will play well on TV. Their live sound is pretty much the same as the recordings. That was enough to drive me to the concourse until they were done, but I was in the minority.

They do very well on SNL and the late night shows.
