I am enjoying the updates TBF.

A friend's son is infantry with the Canadian Forces so between this and his Facebook updates I feel like I am getting insight from someone I know.

I thought the same thing. Nothing on his FB page, hopefully that is a good sign.

Latest version says the NATO troops were American.

But unless he was transferred w/o telling us, 3B wouldn't be flying that many people in his aircraft. Plus, he's not stationed anywhere near the crash.

Hey T_B_F, seems like I may be seeing you on the other side of the world. Just joined Cavalry Scouts & ship out to Ft. Knox on March 9. What's it like over there? I just hope I'm in a Stryker and not a Humvee.

I'm doing fine, guys. I appreciate your thoughts and prayers. I've been out of the connectivity loop for a couple of weeks and wasn't even able to call Mrs. t_b_f. She was relieved to hear from me earlier today, although she knew the day after the crash that I was OK.

Although it wasn't my aircraft that cashed, the helicopter belonged to Task Force Shadow, my unit. I knew two of the crew really well and two of them marginally, that is to say we knew each other's names and spoke at meetings and in the hallway. I had flown quite a bit in Marjeh with two of the guys. One was a door gunner whom I had to absolutely force to go to the hospital when he had something in his eye. He would stay up through all hours of the night and play video games. The other was a pilot who had recently talked to me about going to college to get his commission and become a MEDEVAC officer, just like me. He had two of the most beautiful daughters I've ever seen and would whip out pictures in a heartbeat. So, so sad.

The crash was nearby and happened while they were inserting some ground forces for an assault. Jonah was doing what he loved.

I'm still in shock. I can't imagine how his close friends feel.

Thanks, guys. Just landed in Atlanta for R&R. A hop to Nashvegas, and I'm home free for 15 days.

    Boom, about the Tide?
