Elizabeth Edwards was a complicated woman. She went through horrible tragedies, most notably the death of her son, Wade. She maintained a strong and composed public face in the midst of her various trials and tribulations. I respect her bravery and intelligence. I would never have wanted to work for her. RIP.

Well, there's a d-b for you. I posted Jones' blog about six posts above yours.

"But Jessi Colter still stood by him. Because she's a good hearted woman, in love with a good timing man. She loves him in spite of his wicked ways that she don't understand."

Speaking of poor manners, guess who's showing up at the funeral?

You guessed it. Fred Phelps and his band of Nazis.

Here's hoping the Secret Service has a few tricks up their sleeves.

  6. My wife and I belong to the church where the funeral will be held, and we were married there. It'll be weird seeing them there after watching their lunacy on the news for the last few years. I think there's a counter protest in the works, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of people turn out for it. The church is right in downtown Raleigh and is one of the larger churches in the area.

This was my favorite Phelps response yet. Not sure if it's realistic in this case but I'd like to see it happen again.

Fred Phelps and followers have to be some of the most despicable and vile people on this earth.

If there's someone who deserves an afterlife of eternal pain and suffering, Phelps heads the list.

Nobody deserves the Phelps treatment. They are as bad as it gets. The "I'm almost half-surprised they don't have their own reality show" kind of bad.

If you buy a couple of dozen eggs and throw them at the Phelps Phools, I would gladly reimburse you for the cost of the eggs.

Great changes. I thought about something along those lines but times are a little tight right now.
