Where in the hell did they come up with that?

Can't quibble with #1. but when they star putting mechanical engineering and chemistry on there -- as more useless than human resources or theater -- kinda have to wonder whose grudges and regrets are influencing these "rankings."

Maybe by averaging PR and journalism together? Otherwise, I don't know.

Newsweek calling anybody or anything "useless???"

 

The methodology says they equally weighted, starting/mid-career salaries, expected chance in total jobs and expected chance in percentage of jobs.

So using that standard, it's pretty obvious Journalism comes in first. Only five of the 20 listed even go negative in those last two numbers, and none can touch a loss of more than six percent of jobs from 2008-18.

Not that I'd tell a kid to major in it, but the method doesn't exactly convince me of anything.
