Magglio's home run 'celebration' is definitely debateable - he easily could have been watching to see if it was fair.

But to say Guillen 'watched it a bit more' is a 'bit more' comical, though. It was pretty bad. Here's evidence:

EDIT: Also funny is the fact that one of the Detroit commentators refers to Weaver as 'Jeff.' How much better than his brother does Jered have to be for people to get his name right? What's sadder is I've witnessed multiple LA-area reporters call him Jeff this summer, too.

    Exactly right.

Your Tigers-colored glasses are showing on this one. I don't have a dog in this hunt, but Guillen clearly stared down his ball and then stared at Weaver before taking a slow trot around the bases.

That's because Weaver yelled at Ordonez for "staring" on his home run. Guillen pulled his stunt for Weaver yelling at Ordonez.

Nah, I never said Guillen was right.

But Weaver was completely wrong for getting his panties in a bunch at Ordonez, who wasn't staring, just watching fair or foul. It clearly wasn't going to be a double. The only question was fair or foul.

And Weaver was a complete ass for throwing at a guy's head.

Also, to show no bias toward the Angels. I didn't have a problem with the eighth inning bunt.

Now that we are at 100 pages, I was hoping we could just have the one running thread for the entire baseball season. I know we have had multiple threads for seasons in the past, but it seems fitting to just let this one keep going since it is dedicated to spnited.

Just saw the highlights of the whole thing. I love the look on Verlander's face as he was staring down Aybar. Forget that it was a close game. If Verlander really wanted to be pissed at somebody, he should have been looking at Guillen. He really expected the Angels to play nice after that?

Astros demote Brett Wallace because ... why exactly? I guess an OBP that's 50 points above the team average belongs in the PCL.

For all the talk about the "code," it's still a 2-0 game.

That whole thing was on the POS Guillen. He more than crossed the line. And the Tigers should be thankful the next pitch didn't hit a head (it wasn't close to hitting it -- and you knew it was coming).

Weaver, Scioscia and the Angels won't put up with that shit, "bush league" or no.

Actually, 3-0, but for what Guillen did, no, the Angels weren't going to be following any code at that point.

The Astros are trying to finish 7-47 and challenge the '62 Mets.
