You're talking about such an intangible here. They went out and got good football players. Where does that translate into desperation? I've heard that before, and have never gotten it.

The Eagles should have followed the Bears' strategy of stockpiling former top-10 picks who sucked. Brings a whole new meaning to Super Bowl or bust.

Asomugha to the Eagles definitely came out of thin air. Supposedly he didn't even know they were in until the last minute. Still, the coverage and speculation looks foolish for not having the team that eventually got him until after the deal was done.

Not the same with Burress. I've heard talk of Burress to the Jets for over a week. The last day or so focused on the Giants and Steelers, but that makes sense since he met with the Giants Friday and Steelers Saturday.

Asomugha is a no-brainer and they didn't have to overpay to get him.

I don't have a problem with a team going all-in to win the Super Bowl. To drop $50 million on guys like Jenkins and Babin is just stupid though. Both of these guys are over 30 and I know Jenkins is coming off an injury.

It's interesting to see which teams always seem to leak information to the national guys. It's usually teams like the Vikings, Jets and Cowboys and you rarely hear anything out of Philly, Pittsburgh, New England and Green Bay.

This will be the second time in just a few years that the Eagles have run off a Pro Bowl DB. I'm assuming Assante Samuel will be dealt soon.

I'm with you here. The Eagles needed an upgrade at DE, mostly to help Trent Cole out, and Babin had the best season of his career under DL coach Jim Washburn last year in Tenn. Philly also needed to address the DT, especially one who can get a push on passing downs. They traded Bunkley, who was a failure as a high first-round pick and would have made close to what they're paying Jenkins this season. Don't really see the desperation some are portraying here.

Nick Barnett to Buffalo to replace Paul Posluszny. I like Posluszny but were it not for the 49ers, Patrick Willis would've been a Bill. Damn.

Kreutz gone. Bears sign Chris Spencer to a two-year contract.

Olin, it was a fun ride.

The last three years or so, he was good for either a holding penalty or unnecessary roughness call per game. Past his prime.
