The first season holds up quite well, I think, and it's easy to spot the earliest instances of some key Sorkin writing memes - using letter-writing as a story framing device, the "pediconferencing", certain characters getting key monologues (Dan in The Apology; Jeremy in Shoe Money Tonight; Isaac in Six Southern Gentlemen of Tennessee) and the evolution of the Impossibly Awesome Boss. Season two has its moments, namely anything having to do with William H. Macy's character that doesn't involve him interacting with Felicity Huffman and Clark Gregg's appearances in the final two episodes.

Best Sports Night moment ever, though: "You're wearing my shirt, Gordon."

Hyperion Bay - I mean, how can you not love a show that featured Zack from Saved by Bell AND Carmen Electra

After Deadwood ended I was psyched about this show and I wanted badly to like it. It had its moments, but overall I thought it was dreadful.

Haven't read the whole thread, but a couple from a few years back that I really liked (and I might be the only one who watched):

"Smith," with Ray Liotta and Virginia Madsen (7 episodes)

"Cane," with Jimmy Smits, Hector Elizondo, Rita Moreno and the guy who played Richard on "Lost" (13 episodes)

I also liked "K-Ville," set in New orleans post-Katrina. Either 2006-07 was a period of pulling the plug on TV shows very quickly, or I had really shitty taste. (11 episodes)

NBC's The Philanthropist (2009). At least it made it to DVD.

Some great answers here. My short list:

Profit - Great show, would easily make it on HBO/Showtime these days.

It's Your Move - Bateman was good, the actress who played his sister was hot and his mom was Caren Kaye from "My Tutor." Whoa.

6 Degrees - Not the greatest show, but I was getting into it when it was yanked. Then it was back on to burn off the remaining episodes and yanked again. I'm still hoping to see it on Netflix sometime soon.

The Nine - Another one abruptly canceled right when the mystery was getting good.

Reunion - Interesting premise with a murder at a 20-year high school reunion with each episode representing a year. And then Fox cancels it after like the 13th episode.

Class of 96 - It was good, but doomed because of the Jason Gedrick factor. Everything that guy makes seems to get axed (EZ Streets, Murder One, etc.)

For the guy who listed Wiseguy earlier, that's a great, great show. It actually had about three good seasons before Ken Wahl went crazy and bolted. I refuse to acknowledge the Steven Bauer season.

I could watch his glass tubes speech again and again, one of the best in any series.

Money. I'm very scared for "Necessary Roughness" right now.
