    HC,

The pain I have now is incredible. Anything hot or cold that touches the tooth triggers a very sharp pain. I will be glad to have it fixed.

As soon as they remove that root (nerve) your pain is done. After that, it's just tedious as they clean out all remaining tissue. You'll nap through it.

    Dear alma mater,

Your actions, which mimicked the Catholic Church in its worst of times, has left me ashamed.

    Dear kind folks,

Promotions at work rule. Although I am a little concerned over how to make the transition from worker bee to being in a position of some authority. Morale at my job is pretty damn low (not for me though, I love what I do) and people who move up are kind of looked down on. Any tips?

    Dear Board,
If there's one thing I hate more than anything else, it's being lied to.

I feel one of my friends -- who I've considered one of my closest friends for a while now -- has done nothing but weave a web of lies about a lot of crap recently. I just don't know what to believe anymore. Every time I talk to this friend, I'm analyzing whether she's telling the truth or lying through her frickin teeth.

And I want to believe her; I really do. But there's something inside me that's saying everything she's told me in the last few weeks has been nothing but lies.

It's pissing me off. I don't want to just up and cut ties with her because of a lot of reasons I really don't want to get into here.

    Dear KY,

If you keep around a friend like her, you won't need enemies.

It's your call, of course, but I'd run like the wind.

    Wick,
Thing is, I'm not 100 percent sure she's lying.

Just one of the many services I provide.

    KY,

I've been in a similar situation -- didn't want to let go of the friendship because I thought there were still a lot of good aspects. In the end, being free of the drama was worth losing whatever positive things there were.

I actually reconnected with this friend 10 years later when she reached out after my mom died. The friendship is much better this time around.

    For what it's worth,
    CP
