Tyler Palko was f-ing putrid in that game. Who knows how a guy like that is even on a roster this late in the season.

Looking at his career, the number of times he has been on practice squads, the weekly call-ups to the active roster here and there, the CFL and all that, I would ballpark his career earnings at between $750,000 and $1 million so far.

Tirico, desperately trying to build up that stinker, said he was a coach's son and a very highly decorated prep player, and that he actually beat out Flacco for the quarterback job at Pitt. His numbers weren't awful tonight, but let's be honest, he sucked out loud.

BYH - On that very same drive, the Chiefs were calling time-outs and trying to get the ball back. Had they stopped the Patriots on third down when they had the chance, they would not have been handing off but would have had OOP's hero Palko throwing the ball.

Well, yeah, but the Chiefs were down 24 pts and had a rookie QB making his first start. It made some semblance of sense for them to call TOs, try to stop the Patriots and get the ball back, if only to take a shot at getting a cosmetic TD that would allow Haley to spew some BS about how Plinko could build off this.

It made NO sense for the Patriots to a.) have Brady still in the game up 24 with 6:30 left to play b.) have him plunging into the line on 4th-and-1 or c.) have first-stringers account for six of the 13 touches on that drive (would have been seven of 13 if not for Hernandez' TD being overturned). I would add d.) throwing to Wes Welker up 24, but even team-first cultists want to maintain their streak of games with at least one reception.

It's not even about pouring it on, though I think it's kind of dickish to not take a knee after the two-minute warning. But I understand the mindset that the NFL is full of grown men and if you don't want people scoring in the final minute, stop them. So no big deal either way.

It's about getting the stars and the starters the hell out of there, just in case. Mike McCarthy managed to get Aaron Rodgers out of there against the Vikings last week.

Oh great, stalker boy is at it again.

Palko offered plenty of reminders of why he has struggled to make NFL rosters last night. He just doesn't have a strong enough arm. I am, however, forever amused by the fact that Palko said "fuck" live on NBC after a Pitt victory over Notre Dame.

What, you expect Tirico to admit that? All you really need to know about Palko is that they have to go back to talking about his father and his high school accomplishments in an attempt to pump him up.

The Packers had three possessions in the third quarter and zero first downs in that game, and during that time the Steelers were catching up quickly. They also had a 21-3 lead but the Steelers had possession at the end of the game to win.

Teams that throw the ball so much have trouble holding leads. It almost cost the Packers against the Bears, and it almost cost them against the Steelers.

If I remember correctly, and honestly I have zero interest in re-watching the thing, but didn't the Packers drop at least one deep ball that would have been an easy touchdown among those third-quarter possessions?

I didn't expect a smallish dude who throws like a girl a worse ball than Tebow or Vince Young.

I did, but I've seen Palko play quite a bit. He is the perfect reminder that for all of the other things that go into being an NFL quarterback, you still have to have the arm.
