    DK showed me how to cover baseball. Owe him a lot. Glad he's still around.

    Do wish, though, MLBAM had picked a better photo.
     
  3. I met Dick back in 1999. I covered a few Royals spring training games in Haines City. I always remember a funny story he relayed to several guys in the press box. After the National Anthem was played Dick turned to the four or five others in the box and said "When Tony Muser took over as manager in midseason, the announcer announced 'Please stand for the National Anthem.' Jeff King was next to Muser and says 'Oh crap, everytime they play this song I have a bad game."

    Ok, it's worth a chuckle, atleast I thought it was. Good to have him still around and the fact he still covered that murderous 162 games is worth an applaud.
