Hi folks. Wanted to provide a quick update. We have filled our sports writing vacancy. We soon will be welcoming Chris Cox to the staff. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, former sports editor for the student newspaper there and two-time MLB.com intern.

The search for a new sports editor is progressing, as well.

Thanks to all who have applied for these positions. I'm heartened to find so many qualified candidates given the uncertainty facing this business. Chris emerged from a strong field, and a decision about the next sports editor also is shaping up to be difficult.
