As great as this thread is, I'd love for someone to put together a pretty long shell where we could all answer the exact same questions...

First song on MTV: Don't remember, but "Get Off" by Prince left quite an impression on my fragile young mind.
First booze: I don't drink alcohol.
First car: 1972 avocado green Plymouth Valiant. No power steering, windows or AC and it had a tendency to stall in the middle of busy intersections, but damn if that thing wasn't a tank.
First job: Babysitting for my parents' friends and/or theater people.
First post-college job: "Sports editor" at a two-person weekly. Not surprisingly, other duties were involved.
First concert: Weird Al Yankovic, Nebraska State Fair, sometime in the early 90s.
First time out of the country: Tokyo, 2008. It was one of those places I'd always wanted to go, and now I look for any excuse to go back.
First cassette I bought: "Major League 2" soundtrack. For the life of me, I can't remember why.
First CD I bought: "No Cure for Cancer" by Denis Leary. See above.
First (non-high school) football game: Nebraska vs. Oklahoma, Lincoln, 1993. Wore three layers of clothing and had the north wind in my face all game, but it was worth it.
First professional sporting event: US men's soccer team vs. Costa Rica, World Cup qualifier, Arrowhead Stadium, April 25, 2001

That would make outing largely unavoidable.

I think that would have to be taken into consideration when making the list. Don't ask anything where answering would be too specific...

First car: Swedish built 1969 Volvo P1800S. Went like a bat out of hell. Loved that car.

First song heard on Ed Sullivan (hell I was an adult when MTV started) Can't remember the song but it was Elvis

    First booze: Lemon gin. Yuck.

First job: Caddying at the Burlington Golf & Country Club. Started when I was 11

    First post-college job: Bookstore clerk

First concert: Think it was Joni Mitchell and James Taylor at the Mariposa Folk Festival in 68 or 69 but can't remember.

First time out of the country: Not including going to the US, 1970 when I went to Europe for eight months

First album I bought: Highway 61 Revisited. Have gone through two vinyl albums, at least two cassettes and now have two CD's.

First CD I bought: See above.

First professional sporting event: Leafs vs Canadiens at Maple Leaf Gardens. I think I was in grade 8 so that would put it round 1961 or 62. The Leafs won and Jacques Plante stopped Davie Keon on a penalty used. Penalty shots back then were rare as hell.

First marriage: 1975. Lasted slightly longer than a Kardashian.

    First MTV video: no clue
First Movie Channel movie I remember: Corvette Summer. Mark Hamill, Annie Potts, corvettes, and it was on again and again--what a great concept!

First booze to puke on: Jack Daniels. Way too much JD, way too much pain and suffering to follow. To this day 30+ years later, I can't drink it; I can barely even sniff it.

First album: Bachman Turner Overdrive, Not Fragile. An XMas gift from my uncle. Cover with the raised topography of gears in a box, back when album art was well, an art form.

First CD: U2, The Joshua Tree. Also probably the last album I bought. Bought the album, bought a CD player a little while after that, and bought the CD.

First concert: Styx. Grand Illusion tour

First car: a yelllow Pinto with broken springs in the back that made it a half low rider and what I'm certain was monoxide like gas that came in through the vents that made the 3 hour ride home from college an adventure in not passing out.

First job: bag boy at a supermarket. Had the job for about two months, then the place gets sold, and I'm out of a job. First corporate downsizing at age 16.

That's up to the consensus, of course, but I kinda like the idea of people bringing up whatever firsts may be most meaningful or story-worthy to them. I'm surprised the "first nookie" hasn't had more takers.

First movie nudity: JoBeth Williams in Kramer vs. Kramer. God, what used to pass for PG.

First childhood memory (was thinking of making that a thread of its own a while back): watching the Ed Sullivan show probably around 1966 or 1967. Believe the story goes I was sick, slept all day and woke up at night and watched a bit of this with the folks. May recall it because I probably wasn't normally up that late back then. Can still picture sitting in that living room watching the old black and white...

First song I recall (non nursery rhyme divison): 'Downtown', Petula Clark

Mine was Olivia Hussey in the 1968 version of Romeo and Juliet. Think I was 13 or 14. English class field trip. Hence my love of language. :D
