OOPS: Jax Writer Tweets Porn Link

[A] Florida Times-Union sportswriter made the embarrassing everyman mistake of accidentally tweeting a porn link to xHamster.com instead of a sports article. The randy tweet stayed up for nearly an hour and gave his thousands of followers a pleasant surprise.

Hey, it worked. His Twitter feed became even more of a must-follow.

 

Nightmare.

 

Bored in my hotel room last night, I went to xboc.com on my work computer on accident, instead of xbox.com. Let's just say it's a tiny bit NSFW. And by tiny, I say that sarcastically.

 

Whitehouse.com used to be a porn site, which we wonderfully found out first hand in middle school.

 

That site owner was stupid, surely not thinking of facing an IRS audit every year for the rest of his life.

 

I remember that. Something like yahooj.com, too, though I always wondered why the j was put on the end. Wouldn't an easier keystroke mistake be something like yahii.com?

 

Right at the beginning of the Internet fad, Californiaangelsdotcom got you to an escort service.
And when the PGA decided to go for PGAdotcom, they found it was already taken by the Potato Growers Assn.

 

What does the paper do with this? Anything? Nothing? I guess it was the writer's personal Twitter account, but he uses it to represent the paper, too.

Embarrassing, but not the end of the world. But what a gaffe.

 

Since he is one of the selectors, no doubt that the Pro Football HOF is thrilled about this development.

 

Probably nothing.

It's perfectly possible that he copied the Tiny URL and left off a letter. Happened to me the other day on a Facebook post and I ended up with a Japanese site of some sort.

 

You don't need tinyURL for Twitter posts now -- Twitter takes any URL and shortens it automatically.
