I was simply going off the numbers, headcase or not.

Understandable. He is easily the most gifted of those pitchers and he has been outstanding this year. I just don't see him holding up well in New York.

Having seen Greinke up close for a few seasons he's definitely a head case of the highest order. That alone doesn't mean he'd melt under the bright lights of New York. I think he'd be fine. He's supremely talented and generally doesn't care what people think of him.

They already passed on him once for just that reason. With his contract coming up at the end of the season, though, it might not be the worst idea to give him a shot.

If it works out, great, you know he can pitch in New York and you sign him to an appropriate contract. If not, you let him walk to another small market team in the offseason.

They also probably wouldn't have to give up anything too substantial for the rental. That's assuming the Brewers are really looking to trade him.

Garza is an attractive option since he's familiar with the AL East, but would Theo and Cashman really be able to hammer out a deal? My guess is they'd have a hard time working something out.

People talk about Grienke like he's borderline retarded.
Go look at pictures of this guy's wife some time to see what a sad sack he is.
He's doing A-OK for a dude people act like is Rainman.
He has social anxiety and is being treated for it.
    That's it.

Anyone see that catch by Trout tonight? Let's see Bryce Harper do that.

Because, of course, a hot wife is always, 100% dead solid sure, an indication of mental stability.

    This one?

Go ahead and give him the Gold Glove during his All Star Game appearance...

Look at Greinke's home-road splits since he went to the Brewers. They weren't quite as extreme last year, but he has struggled on the road. This season, he has been damn near untouchable at home, but his road ERA was 4.14 before Wednesday's game. This is with a good hitter's park as his home field. It just seems clear that comfort level is very important to Greinke and that would concern me if I was trading for him for the Yankees.

My dad, RIP, would always say, "the kid needs to take his pillow with him on the road. He's not sleeping right."

Greinke has never lost a game at Miller Park.
