    Ok we usually wait till Christmas to do this, but this is the halfway point of 2012. What are your picks for the top SPORTS stories of the year thus far?

    My top 10 are:

    1) Former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky convicted on multiple counts of sexual assault.

    2) LeBron James wins third MVP, first NBA title.

    3) New Orleans Saints bounty program leads to player and coach suspensions.

    4) Los Angeles Kings become first No. 8 seed to win Stanley Cup.

    5) Peyton Manning released by Indianapolis Colts, signs with Denver Broncos.

    6) Rafael Nadal wins record seventh French Open title, denies Novak Djokovic a fourth straight major title.

    7) College presidents approve a FBS playoff system, but won't come into affect until 2014.

    8) New York Giants complete surprise playoff run by beating New England in Super Bowl XLVI.

    9) Former cyclist Lance Armstrong officially charged with doping.

    10) Roger Clemens acquitted on charges of lying to Congress.
