Well, I hope Denver is as good as a lot of you think they are.

Manning looked great. Without him at center, this team slips dramatically, and I just don't see him playing all 16 this season.

He held up fine tonight and the Steelers did get a couple of big hits on him. No question that is his team already, though the Broncos still have a good defense and a strong running game even without Manning.

    Welcome back vertical passing game.

Welcome back playing with a lead.

Welcome back scoring more than double figures.

You've been missed, friends. Welcome back

So, you're predicting Denver won't be as good if Manning gets hurt?

Be careful out there on that limb.

Yeah, I don't think there was a whole lot of doubt that Manning would be good this year while he was playing.

The question is how long will that last.

But he is an old man with a bad neck who will be playing in very cold weather soon. If he plays the entire season, they should have some home field games in the playoffs.

Who is their current backup QB?

Name me ANY team who will be *fine* if their starting quarterback goes down. And name the other 31 backup quarterbacks, other than ESPN, I mean Teblow.

    (It's Osweiller)

But while they're throwing confetti down Colfax and Broadway tonight, it's one game, the first game. Let's not start sucking each other's dicks quite yet.

    Brock Osweiler. Not good.

May as well be Lily Tomlin.

Denver will have a winning season and probably make the playoffs. I am a SB or Bust guy. I see many similarities between the Colts decision and what the Packers had to decide in 2007/08.

The Colts won't be as good as the Broncos the next two years. But I strongly doubt either will play in the Super Bowl. Indy saw Manning's ceiling. It was 5 years ago. Just like when the packers saw that, even with all the variables in place in 2007, Favre still couldn't close anymore. That is when you make the switch (Rodgers or Luck). Ask Miami and Buffalo how easy it is to replace an HOF QB without a good successor.

At least, in 2009, Favre had high end weapons to shield him and he played indoors. Manning has fewer weapons, cold games at the end of the year and, no domes in the playoffs except for Houston. Anyone here think 2012 Manning can win in January in BLT, NE, or even cold, windy Denver? I don't.

I fully expect Manning to look decent the first month until the film is out there on his new team. As the weather gets colder, I just wonder about the hits, the stamina.

Especially the no-call on the blatant block in the back that sprang Cobb's punt return TD.
