Anyone have dual citizenship?

Does anyone here have dual citizenship? I am interested in the process you went through to get it and any advice you may have.
I am a Canadian, but I am pretty sure I qualify for dual, both my parents were born in the U.S. -- mom came up when she was nine, my dad when he was in his 20s. My mom has her Canadian citizenship now so she could teach but my dad never got his. My grandma on my mom's side also lives in Canada but I believe has landed imigrant status. I still have uncles and other family that live in the U.S.
Basically I want to get on this ASAP, so what do I need to know?

Double J does indeed have dual citizenship which he applied for in a similar situation, Beef. Maybe PM him for details.

What are the benefits to holding dual citizenships? I mean, in practical terms. Can you vote in both countries for president and PM (I'm thinking Canadian-U.S.)? Can you hold dual passports, thus allowing you to travel to Cuba without problem using your Canadian passport?

I'm not eligible for dual status, I'm just curious about the benefits.

You're able to work in both countries.

    I think that's Beef's goal -- to work in the U.S.
