Maybe they learned their lesson and are afraid that whoever they bring in for the last few meaningless games might win a couple & pressure them into a bad hire.

Or, you know, actually trying to save as much time as possible for a final drive.

I don't blame Tomlin on that one. Bad luck and a blown call in a game the team deserved to lose, anyway.

    I agree.

It is an example, though, of everything not getting a review that might need a review.

Bears just placed G Lance Louis on injured reserve. Torn ACL.

I know, I know, being the best Bears lineman is like being the classiest chick on one of those Real Housewives shows. But Louis was the best lineman, and by far the most effective run-blocking lineman. Especially effective pulling.

Shhhh..we're not allowed to talk about injuries hurting the teams we root for around here. :)

This is so insanely ridiculous -- the NFL yanked Rich Eisen's Thanksgiving interview with Bradley Cooper. The actor stars in a movie where he moves home with his parents while dealing with his bipolar disorder. His dad, played by Robert DeNiro, is a small-time bookie. And although the gambling connection wasn't part of the NFL Network interview, the fact that there is gambling in the movie at all was enough for the NFL to put the kibosh on.

In this light, I fully expect Al Michaels to be flogged at Rockefeller Center for his subtle reference to the over/under in the Packers-Giants game last night.

Man. If the game can ever lose its spot atop the pecking order, it will be because of these humorless and controlling fucks.

Al Michaels has been making subtle -- and often not-so-subtle -- references to the over-under for ther past 30 years or so.

Don't forget the angle of hypocrisy given the Rooney family's gambling connections, which were an issue with the ownership of the team a while back.

Then again, the legend goes that Art Rooney, Sr. only had the money for the franchise fee back in 1933 because he'd had a good day at the track.

And Tim Mara was a bookie, no?

Correct, although it was legal at the time.

And it's funny how the NFL is so concerned about gambling, when for years, they had Jimmy the Greek on their pregame shows.

That happens more often than we want to admit.

Season is lost. Get it over with. Lose out. Get the top draft pick. And then make plans to rebuild the entire organization.
