    That won't stop them.

I don't really see how you make a case that citizens need to be able to rush out and buy an assault rifle.

CNN just reported the shooter had a "direct connection to the school."

'Guns don't attack children; psychopaths and sadists do. But guns uniquely allow a psychopath to wreak death and devastation on such a large scale so quickly and easily. America is the only country in which this happens again -- and again and again. You can look it up.'

When the world ends. As long as you have people, you're going to have people who will do this sort of thing.

I have a feeling the play-by-play of how this went down will be almost unreadable to many.

    Yep

Polish that gun tonight. This is the price of ownership.

I appreciate the few people here who are honestly trying to post reasoned thoughts. As Proud Pittsburgher alluded to, it's really difficult to sum up your feelings when something so shocking happens. I've only seen a handful of posts on this thread and I hope no one is dumb enough to argue for gun rights in the aftermath of this tragedy. This is not the time or place. On the other hand, you have to be a despicable human being to exploit this tragedy so you can browbeat your political opponents. Absolutely disgusting.

Prayers to all the loved ones affected. I simply cannot imagine the horror the parents of those killed are going through.

I'll wait til during the Super Bowl to argue for gun control. That way, no one will be paying attention.

I have a kid in kindergarten and another in first grade... This kind of shit just scares the shit out of me...

During my time as a journalist, I had to cover one of these and I don't know that I've ever fully recovered from it... It's just unimaginable.

  12. Wouldn't be surprised if this is it. When I was in sixth grade, 25 years ago, a guy walked into an elementary school a few miles from my house and started shooting. Guy was 19. Killed two little girls. He was schizophrenic.
