I just saw a commercial for a vacuum cleaner for your ear canal. Looks like a cross between a hair dryer and a soldering iron. I could see a medical professional using such a device, but ordering some cheap thingy off a TV commercial? No thanks.

 

...and right ahead of NFC checkout scanners.

 

Something about the Discover Card 5% cash back ads gets on my last nerve.

 

I reiterate my hatred for the bastardization of Footloose by Chase.

I couldn't find it on youtube*, but there's a local car dealership running a commercial that starts with two little girls belting out Jingle Bells at the top of their lungs. Everything grating about screaming, snot-nosed, spoiled brat kids is captured perfectly in about 10 seconds of film. Then the dealership's staff mumbles the rest of the song while looking down at the two little trolls instead of the camera. It's the most godawful piece of shit commercial ever aired.

This is a nitpicking thing, but with all of the credit card commercials playing right now, I can't stand to see them "swipe" the cards the wrong way. They never swipe on the magnetic stripe because it won't show the logo that way. Drives me nuts.

Local commercial for a TV station's high school sports show has been running for a while now and pisses me off every time I see it (and my wife, since I complain about it whenever it comes on).
It's sort of an artsy thing, with a few high school players running through a play while some music plays over top of it. The stadium is obviously empty, they're all from the same team and there's only about six players involved. No biggie, except they're all wearing the same color jersey. So you have guys in red jerseys trying to tackle teammates in red jerseys, which looks really, really stupid.
I want to slap whatever local sports guy filmed that for getting me all agitated before bedtime.
