Keep in mind that while Glenwood, New Castle, Rifle, etc., aren't resort towns, they are oil and gas towns, with all the attendant issues that brings, including pressure on rents.

Isn't Glenwood Springs Sanitarium where Doc Holliday died?

According to Wikipedia, Doc Holliday died at the Glenwood Hotel in Glenwood Springs. Doc Holliday died in 1887 after dealing with tuberculosis for a number of years. The sanitarium wasn't built until after Holliday died.

Glenwood isn't a resort town, but it's definitely pretty. Right there on the western slope. And some decent prep sports in the area, especially Rifle. Plus, less than an hour to Athpen.

It's a great area. If we ever decided to live a dream and move to the high country, it's the first place we'd look. Also less than an hour to Vail and even if it's not technically a resort area it certainly draws a fair amount of tourists, especially to the hot springs. Just spent a nice New Year's there and there were tons of foreign tourists in addition to the more local ones.

I hear ya. Did the resort town thing once and found it was a lot different when you live there than it is when visiting for a week.

Very pretty area, probably in my top five Colorado high country area to relocate to and live. But there are many in the state.
