Walter White and company weren't the focus for AMC when the show first aired. It was the stepchild to Mad Men, which AMC hyped the shit out of because it was the brain child of a former producer(?) of the Sopranos.
The Walking Dead, meanwhile, shot out of the gate like a cannon during the lead up to Halloween a few years ago and hasn't looked back. It's an unstoppable force for AMC, although Breaking Bad is a much better show.
Also, wasn't Walking Dead only supposed to be a mini-series that first year? That's what I remember. The ratings were so massive and the following wanted more, so AMC gave us more.

It aired Halloween night, I believe, which made it more intriguing in my book.

No, it wasn't going to be a mini-series, but if it failed after the first season, then yeah, it would have been gone.
It just blew up massive quick and they signed them up for season 2 after the initial numbers....then they threw in Talking Dead since people were clamoring for more.
I wonder how the comic market has done, especially with the book just hitting 100 recently. I see they are selling the books as volumes now.

Michonne would be more likable to Rick if she would fricking open her mouth and speak instead of looking like she's just been told she has to bunk next to Merle. All the talk about not letting in the new group is such a waste because you know they're going to join up anyway.

If Rick keeps having his stupid Lori visions I think people will stop watching. Many of us couldn't wait for her to be killed off and now she won't go away. I wish they'd go on the road again. It's much more interesting when they're on the move.

That would make the show very cost-ineffective though. Maybe now that they are making more money on the show..that could happen, but I doubt they would create this huge prison set and set up shop in a town to create Woodbury only to drop it a few shows in.

How do we know it's Lori?

    Who else would it be?

After her death, her name wasn't listed in the credits. It was this week.

It could be somebody from his past who hasn't been revealed. But her name being in the credits kills that theory.

That's what I was hoping though because I was sick of Lori too. Now if they want to bring her back and kill her again, I'd be ok with that...

I won't quit watching, but this is a great point.

I'm not sure I would watch Andrea and Lori having lesbian sex if they were in character and talking the whole time.
